about the project

A diverse and flexible space designed to accommodate various forms of informal activities, from casual hangouts and family gatherings to social interactions. The space aims to be approachable and welcoming to people from different backgrounds, creating an inclusive environment where everyone can comfortably gather, connect, and spend time together.

design concept

Brings the familiarity of traditional market elements into the interior, transforming the space into an immersive street-food experience that reflects the lively and grounded atmosphere of everyday Indonesian street life.

design inspiration

The design draws inspiration from Indonesian elements such as rattan and wood, reinterpreting them through a modern approach to create an interior that feels contemporary and relevant to younger generations. The gerobak is introduced as a distinctive display feature for traditional Indonesian cakes, while serving as the main focal point of the space, connecting the interior to the familiar character of Indonesian street-food culture.

Custom Food Display

The concept represents the gerobak, an iconic element of Indonesian street food culture where vendors sell food directly from mobile carts and people freely gather to purchase from them. Translating this element into the interior creates a sense of familiarity and informality, allowing users to feel connected to the cultural character and street-life experience of Indonesia.

Bar Loose Furniture

The bar section draws from the proportion and scale of the gerobak, translating its familiar street-side presence into the interior. This creates an intuitive sense of familiarity for customers while ensuring the bar remains functional and ergonomically appropriate.
